With original Canon cartridges you get the reassurance that each cartridge will provide exceptional performance. Refilled cartridges may not print to the same standard as new Canon cartridges because its internal components may be partially or fully worn out.
Manufacturing and assembling toner cartridges is a complex procedure involving several hundred processes. However Canon has developed a single automated production system which uses state-of-the-art production technology to create the high quality cartridges that our customers expect.
The photosensitive drum unit is one of the most sensitive imaging components in the printer. New Canon cartridges ensure that toner does not accumulate on the drum and the fixing roller. This avoids unsightly lines, blurring or grey backgrounds and damage your printer. Original Canon toner guarantees the proper function of the drum unit, resulting in crisp, clean documents very time.
Canon’s exclusive roller-charging technology ensures ozone free emissions. This clean technology is not harmful to human health or the environment and even makes the cartridge more compact as fewer parts are required. In addition all Canon toner and cartridges are non-hazardous. This means that our cartridges do not require special treatment or processing.
Genuine cartridges can be recycled using Canon’s no waste to landfill recycling programme. To find out more about the programme, or to request a free return form, visit our Cartridge Recycling page.
Counterfeit Canon cartridges are packaged to appear as though they have been manufactured by Canon or with the consent of Canon but they have not. The manufacture and sale of counterfeit Canon cartridges is illegal. Canon works with customs, police and trading standards authorities to remove counterfeit Canon cartridges from the market and bring those responsible for their manufacture and sale to justice.
The print capacity of counterfeit cartridges that Canon has obtained and tested, ranges from 28% to 69% compared to original Canon cartridges.
Allion Co., Ltd., an external verification agency, conducted tests to determine the difference in print quality between genuine Canon toner cartridges and third party cartridges. The report verifies the benefit of genuine Canon cartridges.
When buying a Canon cartridge always look out for the hologram, with its colour change technology, and the ‘Genuine’ Canon logo on the outside of the package. Then you can be certain that you’ll get the very best print quality from your Canon printer, fax machine or multifunctional device. The phrase "for use in Canon products" does not mean it's an original Canon cartridge.

Toner for high speed printing
Canon's EF-Toner (Energy-saving Fine toner) is designed for on-demand fusing. It enhances and maximises the fusing performance for an on-demand fusing system. It provides the user with a superb monochrome image quality every time.
EF-toner improves the fixing performance substantially, compared to conventional toner. This enables on-demand fixing on high-speed machines. In addition our On-Demand Fixing Technology reduces energy consumption compared to the conventional roller fixing method. Furthermore, it generates a Quick First Print from sleep mode. This is good for the environment because less energy and resources are needed to print. This is also good for your budget as running costs are considerably lower.
Why choose Canon EF toner?
On-demand fusing technology
Reduced energy consumption
Lower environmental impact
Quality monochrome toner
Canon’s MS (Magnetic Spherical) Toner has been specially developed for use with our latest generation of mono printers. It delivers outstanding results for all your prints and guarantees high monochrome image quality and clear fine black text. The toner consists of a micro capsule structure with wax at its core - surrounded by a layer of dispersed magnets. This improves both developing and melting performance and maximises on-demand fusing functionality. As a result, you benefit from enhanced Quick First-Print performance, save time and lower your power consumption thereby cutting energy costs - as well as benefitting from exceptional print quality and hardware performance.
Why choose Canon MS toner?
Exceptional black & white print quality
Improved melting performance
Polymerised colour toner
S toner is the original Canon polymerised toner for colour printing. It has a spherical shape and is uniform in size. Therefore, S toner produces a highly detailed toner image on the photosensitive drum and it has high and precise transfer performance. S toner gives a high quality image output.
Canon’s special S toner consists of perfectly spherical particles that are uniform in size and have a central wax core. This eliminates the need to use oil in the fixing process. Read more about the benefits of glare-free oil-less fusion technology below.
Why choose Canon S toner?
High detail printing performance
Uniform toner particles for exceptional printing quality
Why choose Canon oil-less fusion technology?
Why choose cartridges with AIRSHELL cushion protection?
Write on printed paper with ease
Professional print output
Extra protection reduces likelihood of damage
Less waste due to smaller packaging
Cushion can be used for recycling
With Canon’s oil-less fusing technology you get exceptionally sharp, glare free colour output thanks to our special oil-less fusing technology. Unlike conventional fixing rollers, oil application is not required - removing the glossiness that many colour devices produce.
Oil-less fusing works in combination with our S-toner to produce perfect colour printouts. S-toner consists of spherical particles, each uniform in shape and size, with a central wax core. This delivers smooth and sharp low-gloss images that are easy on the eye. You can even write on the printed page without any problems.
A number of Canon’s cartridges are packaged in an AIRSHELL cushion selected by Canon for greater protection. Both effective and environmental friendly, this breakthrough packaging won a prestigious WorldStar Award in 2004, bestowed by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) for design and innovation.
AIRSHELL cushioning enables the use of a much smaller box size. This reduces CO² emissions during the cartridge shipment process by approximately 20% compared to conventional packaging. AIRSHELL packaging can also be used for returning your used cartridges for recycling, increasing the environmental benefits even further.
When selecting a cartridge you look at pricing, features, performance, quality and reliability. Of course, the print cost per page for different models is equally important. Page yield provides you with a precise measurement of how many pages a toner cartridge can print.
The page yield of many of Canon all-in-one toner cartridges used in monochrome devices has been measured according to strict ISO (International Organization for Standardization) procedures. The ISO 19752 Standard describes the method for the determination of toner yield for monochromatic electro photographic printers and multi-function devices that contain printer components.
The page yield of these cartridges is measured under strictly defined circumstances. The sample test sheet shown here has been the standard for page yield measurements of our monochrome toner cartridges from 2002. By using original Canon toner cartridges you can be sure that your cartridge will deliver the number of prints promised by Canon.
